I’m please to say that I have finally discovered Eco St. I didn’t realise they were just over at Wendover. Fab shop full of planet saving gadgets and books and stuff. It’s in the car park at the Wyvale Garden Centre in Aylesbury Road, World’s End.
It is also a place for recycling things you really don’t want to throw away but don’t know how to get rid of: CDs (from magazines or ones you couldn’t write to), old batteries, and used Brita water filters.
Just brilliant :>)

Well here’s a turn around.
Alberta’s decision to squeeze oil out of the sands is turning against them. Even the US are saying they won’t buy it and Alberta are having to re-think their decision in view of the bad press.
Labelled the dirtiest oil on the planet, oil from these tar sands takes three times as much energy to extract. Until recent times it would have been considered unviable. But the pendulum is swinging away from them yet again as the destruction of habitat for millions of migrating birds is making the price of this oil just a little too high for people to stomach.

Phones that charge themselves up when you talk into them? Now that sounds like a good idea :>) It seems as though the more noise we make the more we can harvest it for energy. And it’s all down to size which has to be really really thin. other uses could make the dance floor green as the energy from the dancers keep the lights flashing.
The technology is being investigated for artificial heart pumps that can take their energy from the beating of the heart.
